TL;DR: PaperTradeNifty is a paper trading simulator. We collect only what's necessary to operate the app (phone number or Google account for login, usage data for improvements). We do not sell your data. All trades are virtual — no real money ever changes hands.

2. Information We Collect
2.1 Information You Provide
- Phone Number: When you sign up using Phone OTP authentication (powered by Firebase Authentication). We collect your mobile number to create and identify your account.
- Google Account Info: If you choose to sign in with Google, we receive your name, email address, and profile picture from Google as permitted by your Google account settings.
- Virtual Trade Data: Your paper trades, positions, orders, P&L history, and portfolio balance. This is stored to sync across devices and enable your trading history.
2.2 Information Collected Automatically
- Device Information: Device model, OS version, unique device identifiers, and app version for troubleshooting and compatibility.
- Usage Analytics: App screens visited, features used, session duration, and crash reports — collected via Firebase Analytics to improve the App.
- Firebase Remote Config: We use Firebase Remote Config to push app configuration (e.g., maintenance mode, feature flags, minimum version) without requiring an app update.
- Advertising ID: If ads are enabled and you have not opted out, we may collect your device's Advertising ID to serve relevant ads via Google AdMob.
2.3 Information We Do NOT Collect
- Real financial account numbers, bank details, or payment card information
- Your actual real-money trades or brokerage account data
- Precise GPS location
- Contacts, call logs, or SMS (beyond OTP delivery by Firebase)
- Photos, camera, or microphone access
3. How We Use Your Information
- Account Authentication: To verify your identity via Phone OTP or Google Sign-In through Firebase Authentication.
- App Functionality: To sync your virtual portfolio, positions, and trade history across devices.
- Push Notifications: With your permission, to send market open/close alerts and important app notices.
- Advertising: To display ads via Google AdMob (free plan users only). Pro subscribers see no ads.
- Analytics & Improvement: To understand feature usage and fix bugs via Firebase Analytics and Crashlytics.
- Customer Support: To respond to support requests submitted via email.
- Legal Compliance: To comply with applicable laws and regulations.
4. Firebase & Google Services
This App uses the following Firebase/Google services, each of which has its own privacy practices:
- Firebase Authentication — Phone number and Google sign-in
- Firebase Firestore / Realtime Database — Storing virtual trade data in the cloud
- Firebase Analytics — Anonymised usage analytics
- Firebase Remote Config — App configuration delivery

For Firebase phone authentication, your phone number is transmitted to Google's Firebase servers to send a one-time password (OTP). We do not store OTPs ourselves.

- Service Providers: Firebase/Google (infrastructure), AdMob (advertising), payment processors for Pro subscriptions — all under strict data processing agreements.

- Safety: To protect the rights, property, or safety of Altriga Technologies, our users, or the public.
6. Data Storage & Security
Your data is stored on Google Firebase servers, which are located in data centers that meet industry-standard security certifications (ISO 27001, SOC 2). We implement appropriate technical and organisational measures including:
- HTTPS/TLS encryption for all data in transit
- Firebase Security Rules to restrict data access to authenticated users only
- No plaintext storage of passwords (we use OTP-based authentication)
- Access controls limiting who within our team can access production data
Despite these measures, no method of internet transmission is 100% secure. We encourage you to use a strong, unique password for your Google account if you use Google Sign-In.
7. Data Retention
- Account data is retained as long as your account is active.
- Trade history is stored per your account until you delete it or your account.
- Analytics data is retained for up to 14 months per Google Analytics defaults.
- Deleted accounts: Upon account deletion request, we delete your personal data within 30 days, except where retention is required by law.
8. Your Rights & Choices
As a user, you have the following rights regarding your personal data:
- Access: Request a copy of your data by emailing us.
- Correction: Update your profile information within the App.
- Deletion: Delete your account in-app (Profile → Delete Account) or email us. Visit our Account Deletion page.
- Opt-out of Ads: Upgrade to Pro to remove all ads. Alternatively, use your device's "Opt out of Ads Personalisation" setting.
- Notifications: Disable push notifications in your device settings at any time.
- Data Portability: Request your virtual trade history exported as a CSV by contacting support.
9. Children's Privacy
PaperTradeNifty is intended for users aged 13 years and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.
10. Third-Party Links & Services
The App may display links to third-party websites or services (e.g., NSE website, news sources). This Privacy Policy does not apply to those third-party services. We encourage you to review their privacy policies.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy periodically. We will notify you of material changes via an in-app notice or by updating the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
